Christmas with the Scholz Family

On Friday the 26th, we made our way to Fort Lupton, CO to celebrate Christmas with Justin's parents. Justin's brother, Jason, and the rest of his family, Sandy and Julian were able to make it out from California and we had a great time celebrating the holiday together. We went sledding as this was Julian's first time of really playing in the snow. John pushing Janice and Julian down the hill. Me taking a trip down the hill.

Justin and Jason Wii boxing.
John and Janice duking it out with Wii boxing. I won't say who one, but I can tell you that John was knocked out in round 2.
For Christmas, John and Janice gave Julian a car that was propelled by moving the steering wheel back and forth. We all had a great time riding on the car. Here is Jason and Julian riding together.

Merry Christmas!

Justin and I went to Burlington on Christmas Eve and had Christmas day with my family. We had a great Christmas with my family. The day was full of presents, food, snowball fights, Wii playing, and fun. One of my favorite presents this year is a player piano. I will be sure to post pictures of the new beauty once it is moved into the house!

Fireplace

Justin bought a new tv a couple of months ago, so we decided it was time to remodel our fireplace so that we could hang the tv above the fireplace. Justin designed the remodel and we had someone do the work.
This is the start of the project. We lived in dust for a couple of weeks before it was all done.

This is the finished product without the tv.

And here it is the finished project with the tv. Since Justin was in charge of design, I am in charge of decorating the arch ways. I haven't decided what to put in these, so if anyone has any ideas just let me know.

Grandpa Rogers Turns 80!

Another chance to gather together and celebrate as special occasion as Grandpa Rogers turns 80 years old on November 11th. Justin and I hosted a special birthday party at our house with more than 30 family members celebrating Grandpa's birthday. While hosting the party, I forgot to get out the camera. Here is a picture of the birthday boy a few weeks earlier.

Grandpa Gross Turns 90!

On October 3rd Grandpa Gross turned 90 years old! We all gathered to celebrate his birthday. All of Grandpa's kids (3) and spouses, grandkids (8) and spouses, and great grandkids (5) were able to attend and help celebrate the special occasion. It isn't often that we all get together! Check out this good looking bunch!Who knew we could clean up so nice!

San Diego

Justin and I went to San Diego for a weekend trip. Here are some fun pictures from San Diego.
We walked on the beach and then went to Water World. Water World brought back great childhood memories of when I wanted to grow up and swim with Shamu. I had so much fun watching the Shamu show that we went and saw it twice:)

Justin left on Sunday and I had to stay in San Diego for another week for work. During my week of work, I managed to find time to go to the San Diego Zoo to see the animals. Here is a little giraffe.

Sorry! I'm not a good/timely blogger!

I haven't had much time over the last couple of months to update the blog, but I am on vacation the rest of this week and will be updating the blog with the last couple of months. My busy season will be starting after this week, so you probably won't see another post for another couple of months, but I promise to update everyone once busy season is over.

Hope all is well!

Little Caleb!

We finally made it down to Amarillo to see our little nephew, Caleb, and his parents, Jeff and Diana. We had a great weekend and enjoyed every minute of our time with the family! Here are some pictures of Caleb! He is just so cute I couldn't narrow it down to a couple of pictures.

Caleb has the longest eyelashes.

Caleb was taking some medicine that turned his tongue and lips blue. Jeff forgot to tell me this and when I got Caleb out of his bassinet in the morning I was in a panic. This picture was taken after some of the blue had worn off, but you can still see a little on his tongue when he smiles.

Caleb got the short couch and Justin got the long couch at nap time. I think they were having a contest to see who could snore louder.

Who knew a dog could chew threw a fence?

Justin got home from work on Tuesday and realized there was a hole in our fence. It turns out Bailey decided that she would make her way through our fence into the neighbors fence for some extra roaming room. Rather than replacing a few of the pickets that were destroyed, we ended up replacing that section of the fence (it was pretty old and our grape vine had already destroyed most of the fence). The fence was torn down on Friday, posts and stringers were done on Saturday and by Sunday we were hanging the pickets. It was a long weekend, but with the help of John and Janice (and a little help from a couple of the neighbor kids) we were able to finish the 63 feet of fence in one weekend. Here are some pictures of our fence building experience.

Welcome back Jason, Jamie, and James!

For Labor Day weekend we went to Pueblo, CO for the baptism of Jason and Jamie Wunneburger's son, James. The family returned back to the US after a two year deployment in South Korea. This was James' first trip back to the US. James was such a sweetheart! The weekend was spent going to the baptism, eating, reminising of old times, water skiing, playing Rockstar on the X-box, and just hanging out.

Happy Birthday Janice!

Happy Birthday to you!
Happy Birthday to you!
Happy Birthday, dear Janice,
Happy Birthday to you!

Have a great day!

It's raining...It's pouring...

It rained in Denver for a couple of days, enough to fill Bailey's little swimming pool, but we didn't even come close to getting as much rain as my parents in Burlington. The first week of August the county fair was in town and they saw a significant amount of rain that week. These two pictures show you the arena at the fairgrounds. Wouldn't you love to watch the bull riders trying to hold on 8 seconds in this arena.

Uncle Justin and Aunt Jen

On June 30th our little nephew, Caleb Michael Gross, was born in Amarillo, TX. He was a healthy little bundle of joy weighing in at 8lb 11.5oz and was 21 1/4 inches long. Jeff and Diana are learning the ropes of parenting and doing a great job! My parents went down to help out around the house after he was born and Justin and I will be heading down in September to spend a weekend with the newest member of our family. We can't wait to see Caleb (and Jeff and Diana) and will be sure to post more pictuers when we get back. Here are a some pictures of Caleb's first month and a half of life!
